KidLicious™

In the spring of 2008, Recipe for Success is conducting a city-wide healthy recipe contest open to all children attending Houston-area elementary schools.

Judged by a panel made up of professional chefs, nutritionists, and RfS board members, a winner will be selected from each of seven regions in various age-specific categories. All regional winners will compete within their age category during a final Iron-Chef-style cook-off. The cook-offs will be taped for future broadcast.

The tape will be used to produce a KidLicious™ video and televistion pilot. A cookbook including all of the winning healthy recipes that are submitted by participating students will be published. The cookbook/video package will be sold on a retail basis, distributed to schools at no cost, and made available at cost for student-driven fundraising purposes.

Students participating in the cook-off will be auditioned as hosts for the spin-off KidLicious™ television series, which will feature kids cooking for kids.
