Recipe for Success Foundation (RfS) is a non-profit 501C3 charity dedicated to combating childhood obesity by changing the way children understand, appreciate and eat their food.
With professional staff and volunteer assistance from 45 of Houston’s finest chefs who participate in our innovative Chefs in Schools™, RFS works with over 3000 elementary children monthly using our unique Seed-to-Plate Nutrition Education™ program that makes healthy eating fun. After just three years, the affects are profound with parents reporting changed eating behaviors and children responding enthusiastically to new foods and understanding what healthy eating is all about.
A comprehensive Seed-to-Plate Nutrition Education™ Program Guide will be available nationwide in 2010. Eat It! food adventures™, a cookbook for kids is scheduled for national release in late 2009, and a companion television series of the same name is in pre-production with PBS. And RfS is leading a collaboration to establish Hope Farms™ within site of downtown Houston as the largest urban agricultural education project in the country. Change is in the air.
